Hello,

I am looking to replace our static thermostat with a programmable one

firstly is it s streight swap. I am aware that to do a streight swap i need a battery powered unit or a seperate PSU

Secondly can anyone reccomend a good one that i can find for a reasonable price

Many thanks

That depends on what you have already got - if there is a mains supply at the stat position, then a mains powered one can and should be fitted.
If no power there, a battery one would be needed.

Popped it off last night, only 2 wires present so i am guessing it simply acts as a switch therefore I need a battery powered unit?

Yes you need a battery powered unit. I would also recommend the CM907. I would say it is easy to programme once you have spent a little time understanding its functions, maintains temperature very accurately and of course you have the advantages of setting temperatures through the day and week to suit your lifestyle.
