Programmer update!

Hi
Looking to replace this immersion heater timer with a digital timer. Its controlling my central heating which is oil fired, bog standard gravity fed no thermostats zones etc. Any advice on what sort type of programmer i need to buy. Thanks

There are lots of single channel digital timeswitches out there. Popular models are Drayton LP711, Honeywell ST9100C, Horstmann C11. Generally you get what you pay for. Their model numbers may change slightly if you want to have the same on/off times each day or a 7 day variant to set different time for each day of the week.

However, it would probably be worth upgrading the system to have separate time and thermostatic control of the heating and hot water. It would involve completely rewiring the heating system and some plumbing modifications but would save energy.
