Hi,

Im working on a little DIY alarm project and need some help please... When the alarm is sounds I need some lights to come on that would normally be operated by a light switch, they need to stay on while the alarm is sounding and the light switch needs to be made useless until the alarm is deactivated.

Is there any way to do this?

Use a relay with 230v contacts. The relay coil at whatever voltage your alarm logic works at.

I'm assuming these are domestic lights?

How many lights and in what room(s)?

Simple parallel connection with original light switch. Assuming the alarm has some no volt normally open contacts.
