hi all, just bought a new barbecue and it has come with a propane gas regulator i have only seen these on butane bottles before, can you get propane bottles that will take a regulator as they normally have a tap on them any advice would be great

The regulator you have is designed to fit on the green bbq bottles. (propane)
thanks for that, i thought they only came in red or blue

The green bbq ones are dearer to buy 
A nice level gauge tells you how much gas left in bottle, and for the non practical users, no spanner required.
Take off the regulator you have and replace with a normal threaded regulator. Cost you less in gas.
