Dutch specialists are restoring our local windmill. The sails have been away to Holland to be restored. It’s taken over a year. Nearly five o clock on a Saturday night and they are still hard at it. Bloody Europeans! 2 sails are now fitted to the cap, I suppose it will have to be craned into place before the other two can be fitted?

Of course they probably couldn't find any little englanders who were skilled enough or willing to do the job...

Let's hope it's finished by 31/12/20 as stated ;)

Funnily enough, we have a shortage of windmill restorers in this country.

We’ve told them we want it finished by then as we will be booting them out! :p

At least it's something English

Unlike renewables which are almost entirely owned by foreign businesses

Funnily enough we also have a shortage of wind turbine manufacturers too...

Most of the UK's turbines come from Denmark and Spain...

Oops!

Watch out, Oopsies back!
What, do they give them to us? Oh, no, they sell them to us don’t they. Well, they’d better be nice to us if they want their business to grow and earn a profit.

Whilst I find your persuasive powers admirable, I fear our European counterparts are likely to be somewhat less cooperative regards a post-Brexit, Covid addled Europe.

Did we ever really actually hold all the cards? Why has the easiest deal in history dragged on way past the 'oven baked', Brexiteer victory stage? Bearing in mind that we have a massively pro-Brexit Tory government in power that lives by both of those statements. Trés odd.

Get Brexit Done, lol.

Probably not but we’re not going to say that, are we?
But it was said all along it was going to be the easiest deal in history...

What did the UK get from Japan? No change!
What did the UK get from Canada? No Change!

So where are these 'advantageous deals' going to come from?

Best you don't for example get diabetes old man, because most of the drugs come from the EU!

Give it a rest will ya - you are very, very boring and your constant banging on about the benefits of the EU have long become tedious to most on this DIY forum. It’s as if you haven’t got anything else in your life. I’m not biting anymore - are you just trying to shut this thread down?

No it wasn't, don't believe everything you read in left wing rags. The quote wasn't 'would be', Fox said 'it should be the easiest deal in history, and of course it should have been, the foundations were already there, we were already trading, a Canada type deal should have been straight forward given we're a far more important trading partner in terms of numbers.
Nobody could predict that the EU would try and strip us of our sovereignty, not allow us to compete in a free market, seize control of our territorial waters, break up the Union and jeopardize peace in Ireland.

I gather Barnier is in London for a final throw of the dice. If I were chief negotiator, I'd tell him to do one and then kick his @RSE all the way to Folkestone.
