Hi,

We are redoing our ensuite soon and before our floor is laid, I wondered if anything additional we can do to protect the flooring from leaks etc.

Is ithere anything can l can either lay on too of the chipboard flooring or solution to paint to help?

Also, wondered about under the shower tray?

i asked our plumber and he said wouldn’t put anything under the shower tray but as there has been previous leaks by older owners wanting to make sure lots of protection.

If there is anything would reccomend.

Thank you

IMO the most important part of any shower installation is the seal between the tray and the tiled walls. I was SO bothered of a possible leak around my tray I also doubly sealed by using a strong plastic quadrant all around it, well glued and sealed in with perfect corner mitres. That was 12yrs ago and all is still perfectly water tight.
