Protection of TT submains

If the only way you can satisfy the disconnection times is with an RCD then one will have to be fitted for each distribution circuit.
Well, as I said, I can currently satisfy the disconnection time requirements with the fuses, but I don't think I should really 'rely' on that, for the reason I've given.

If I take the conservative view and assume that I 'might' need RCDs to achieve the disconnection times, then presumably my present setup is OK - one RCD per phase (each phase supplying one or more distribution circuits). The Type S RCDs will satisfy the 1 second disconnection time requirement on any of the submains.
