Back in the day, I used to be deeply interested in this stuff - anything electronic, was what floated my boat. The above, was one of the things I always intended having a go at, but never got a roundtuit. I wonder if the idea, updated, still has some merit?

Of perhaps more interest, were the many ads to be found in the pages, for electronic supply companies, most long since gone, most selling ex-WWII equipment. Those were interesting days..

And those were very formative times for me, I built 6 of the dimmer arrangements on page 811 but a bigger triac and without the meter circuit for stage lighting at school. One of the other lads father made an enclosure for it at work, based on a 19" 4U panel and U shaped box behind. The massive mistake was using rotary pots rather than linear which were megabucks at the time.

I got him to provide another enclosure with 3 rows of holes for the pots and attempted to create a 2 preset version (Hoped to make it 3 preset) but I never could overcome the interaction between channels. Eventually I used the enclosure as a disco mixer and that may very well still be lurking in amongst all the other tat.
