provisions for outside sockets

Can someone clear this one up please, if you want to install a socket outside i understand that it has to be according to regulations be rcd protected. If the consumer unit has rcd protection for the power circuits already, do you also install a socket that has rcd protection incorporated in it or is it ok to install one without on one of the circuits being either a spur or extending the circuit :?:

no need for additional rcd protection if you already have it in your comsumer unit.

thats saved a few quid hasnt it :LOL:
 
Sometimes you can get masterseal rcd (or normal) sockets very cheap on ebay, and brand new ;) hush hush to how the seller gets hold of them!

make sure if your using it to power christmas lights or something,that you can close the lid with them plugged in.
