This seams the best solution: (and what I am doing)
I may just tape the blue thing up again and get a short USB extender instead!


The one where ALT PRN SCN doesn't work is a bit like this, however the cable is braid with a clear cover and in retail packaging.

Given the amount of effort put in so far, you may be better off finding a new motherboard that also has PS/2 connectors - believe it or not, they still exist!

My desktops are ps2 (far better!)

Note to self, (as I can't edit old posts), the media keys also work ok with the blue lump adaptor
