I installed a pull switch today in the bathroom, it also works the extractor fan. All was running well until a few minutes ago, the light came on, then went off, whilst the fan continued to work. Then the light came back on and flickered a little.
Would this be a lose wire connection?

Thanks :)

The switch should be screwed to a piece of wood/noggin in ceiling.
It will pull out of a wall plug if that is all that is securing the switch to the ceiling.

I have rechecked the wiring and the wires are still in place,I tugged both of them a little to be sure. The fan works fine but the light still flickers on and off :(

Try the connections to the fitting itself.

If they're OK, try the connections on the fittings in the rooms adjacent to the bathroom.

Because when the screw came out the wall plug came out with it and the area around it is rather crumbly
Inappropriate type of plug, or the wrong size in relation to the screw or the wrong size hole.

Whether a plasterboard fixing will work well for a heavy duty pull switch is one thing, but a correctly installed fixing will not come out when you unscrew the screw in it.
