I have a Myson cp63 pump that has stopped working. It was replaced around six months ago after the old one did the same. The boiler is working fine, have got hot water etc but the pipes are banging and the radiators aren't getting warm.

The pump just doesn't seem to be doing anything at all...!! Not pumping or even making a sound..!!

Please help, it's blooming freezing...!

Something maybe blocking it. With the system switched off take the black plastic hex piece out of the middle of the pump and try turning the impellor inside, with a screw driver. This might free it up if it is stuck. Put the plug back in before switching system on again.

The black octagonal plug won't come right out. It's fitted on to a hex headed bolt which will be loose once you've unscrewed it as far as you can. Then you pull the bolt or its cap (if it stays on) towards you, and wiggle it to and fro. Might be stiff - get it turning.
They do let some water out - can be quite a torrent.

it spins with the pump when unscrewed with pump running
Only if you pull it, isn't it? Otherwise I thnk it sort of rattles about in a worrying sort of way.

For what its worth if it is bu#gered don`t replace it with another myson as they are rubbish pumps
