I want to lower the max. power requirements of my house and the 8kW electric shower is a massive load. I have had some ?mad thoughts of replacing it with a pumped hot and cold thermostatic mixer arrangement with a low power selectable maybe 1, 2 and 4kW booster element (for occasional use). The heating source for the stored hot water will be delivered from Solar to the storage tank in addition to the gas CH.

Is this possible/desireable/feasible/obtainable/achievable/barking mad?

Your thoughts, people?

Thanks for looking.

Why do you think you need a booster element, why not just run the thermostatic mixer pumped off the cylinder and cold water storage?
