Pumps and filters - are they okay?

It sounds like systems that really should have been power flushed.

I find magna cleans to be the better filters but poor design for leaks

The MB3 spirotech looks good though, Im going to give that a try.

For what an eco pump will save (probably £5 to £10 a year) they're just not worth it. Too many have problems with the electronics etc. When they do start to play up they can be difficult to diagnose faults on.

Yes that was my feeling too.More to go wrong! KISS is my approach!
