Punto exhaust blowing

My Mk 2 Punto is making a noise like a motor boat, there is little coming out of the exhaust pipe at the rear and underneath, just behind the mesh section near the gearbox the pipe has corroded and come away.

How much of the system will have to be replaced? It seems that there is a long pipe from there going to the cat at the back of the car.

Is it possible just to rrplace the section between the mesh and the cat>

Just to prepare me for when I take it into the garage.

look at it y your at the garage-the cat you refer to near the back of the car-if its near the axle-its a silencer- the flexi's (mesh) always blow- expect 80quid unless rear corroded also.
