Hi I’ve just bought this house and gone in the loft and I am shocked to see the purlin beam i think it’s called is balanced at both sides of the loft on bricks and breeze blocks. Does anyone think this is safe? Will it be very expensive to rectify? I’m worried the roof will cave in thank you

Really? Wow thanks yes it’s a 50’s/60’s semi bungalow I just thought it looked dangerous like something I might have done myself. The roof looks to be sagging a bit too so thought I might need the whole roof doing

I don’t think they looked in the loft as it was a basic report
