Hi my push button button appears to have stopped working.....it seems the bit in the first picture has become detached. Anyone know where it goes or can offer any help please.

Thanks
Tom

The two little arms sticking out of the end of the push button assembly in the first picture slot into the side of the cylinder in the second picture. The larger arm that moves when you push the button lifts the cylinder to start the flush.
This should give you the idea: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VX68DIG
Usual problem is that one of the clips where the two little arms clip into on the cylinder has broken off. This will mean replacing the cylinder. A fairly straightforward job.

Thanks for this. Would the cylinder in the link shown be the replacement I would need if so?

You'll have to buy the kit. Yes, the cylinder will replace yours.
Turn off the water supply and flush the loo (pull up the cylinder). Note the orientation of the cylinder, press slightly down, rotate anti-clockwise, lift out. Set up the new cylinder as per the old. Fit the new cylinder by rotating clockwise until it clicks/locks in place. Carefully attach the flush assembly.

Would I be right I thinking I have you done the cistern to get to the large nut under used to secure the new unit to the cistern. Any help appreciated

If you are only replacing the flush unit, see my post (#4) above. You do not have to get under the cistern.

Thanks. I just don't want to open this unit, find it doesn't fit and be unable to return it due to this.

Take the old flush unit out of the cistern as described above. Hold it against the unwrapped package to compare and see that you have the correct replacement.
