Hi

Wonder if anyone can help. Been having some work done on my house today. A kitchen fitter has been putting in a new sink and worktops, and I also have a gas fitter putting in a new boiler. The water has been off a couple of times.

The kitchen fitter fitted the new sink and used my existing mixer tap, and assured me he had connected it up just the same but I could not check it as the water was off and he needed to leave. When the water went back on there is just no water coming out of the tap at all.

Is this something simple that I can sort out or do I need to get someone in again?

Any advice on what it might be would be most appreciated

Thanks

At this point in time, we have to suspect that there are other isolating valves in the supply to your kitchen taps.
Presumably the other taps in the house are fine?
John :)

Hi, thanks for replying, yes all other taps are fine

In which case there will almost certainly be some isolators - check under the sink? Post a picture of anything that doesn't look familiar.
On rare - and I mean rare - occasions if the taps are fed by a tank in the loft an airlock could have occurred which can cause no flow, but I'd guess the cold at least is direct from the mains.

The isolating valves usually have a screwdriver slot - that needs to line up with the pipe for ON

For crying out loud get your so called "kitchen fitter" back and kick his backside till he sorts it out.
