PVC pipe in footings

I've been digging some footing trenches for patio steps which cross this PVC pipe (gutter runoff into a soakaway).
Just wondering how best to surround/protect the pipe before concreting - pea shingle?
The concrete will be 300mm depth if this makes any difference?

If you have some old bricks to place either side or even tiles, then you can poor some pea shingle around the pipe and place another tile as "roof" lintel that way you allow some expansion. You could probably get away with doing nothing as well.
