Engineer code.
If you do not know what you are doing then entering the engineering function could cause you problems if you change any settings.
User code will stop noise once control panel opened.
User code to reset once lid back on. This way you will not change any programmable functions.

No it’s connected to your phone line ….it’s not using a SIM card ….you would be better shopping panel as before…

I'm 99% sure it doesn't use the phone line. I was there when it got installed and they didn't touch the phone line. It also makes that noise say speakers will make when a mobile phone receives a text, that interfence type noise if that makes sense , here's a link to show the noise

I also spoke to the engineer setting it up and queried how the sim would work and he said they take care of that e.g. topping it up etc

As sparkymarka stated it’s a PSTN board connected to a phone line not a gprs sim unit. Can you see the SIM card on your pictures?


PSTN Modem (Digi-1200)
This modem connects directly to the telephone line and can be used to send signals to an Alarm Receiving Centre. It can also be used to send SMS via a third party TAP server.

What would be best to swap with then? I've checked the cloud version and that looks like it sends an alert to an app. I would much rather have it dial a number or at least text someone. Dialing out would be far better in my opinion as your more likely to check your phone if there's a call. Also with the cloud version you'd need internet to receive notifications which you won't always have (or at least as much as just a signal or home landline).

Can you see what the 4 coloured wires are connected to...... and do u know what spftware ersion the panel is

Tap text charges excessive and tap numbers keep changing.
Analogue telephone lines are going shortly.
