Hi I've received some great advice in the past here re. My alarm.

The latest problem is due to building work - the sensor on my gate has been smashed off and I need to replace it.

I have a new sensor on order, and know the engineers code.

Is it a DIY job? To get the panel to learnt the new sensor?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Steve

Very easy ....first you have to remove the old device , then learn the new one in its place ....and that's it

Thanks - I'm struggling to remove the old one. Like I said I have the engineer code and I've got a manual but I can't work it out. I didn't think I was that thick!

If I can remove the old one I can at least arm the rest of the system - at the moment I can't even arm the system which is a pain as the house and garage are both more exposed now due to the building works.

Any tips on that please?

Firstly go to Wireless device control > control inputs > delete devices > Press No to ‘delete all’. Enter the device address number (zone number) > press yes > “input deleated”. Keep pressing No until you get back to ‘Wireless device control’ press No until you get “change inputs” type in same zone number > press yes > display will show the attribute of the sensor (Intruder/entry exit...etc) press 00 so its says unused/not used. press no until you get back to ‘Change inputs’ press A then you should be taken back to day mode.

Top man. Thank you so much. It worked perfectly. I really appreciate the idiots guide.

I suppose when it's your job it seems straightforward - but I think I would have struggled to get there on my own

Thanks again - I think from that instruction I can have a good go at installing the new sensor as well.
