Hello to all.
Got a sample quartz tile sent.
Scratched hell out of the nice shiny surface with a screw and not a mark.
Guy online said they needed sealing,
However, in 2012 on here, TPT said to put water on tile for 10 minutes. Wipe off. If no mark left then sealing not required.
I just put the following on for 20 mins and not a mark -
Water, butter, cooking oil, milk, ketchup, blueberries and beetroot.

Part of the same search came up with - When tiling on WBP plywood, don't seal it with anything?
I've read other advice on here saying seal plywood with SBR.

My 2 questions are -

1. Given the advice by TPT is 3 years old, does it sound like I don't need to seal them, or have times changed and you always seal them regardless?

2. I'll be using WBP 12mm screwed to original pine worktops. To seal or not to seal?

Thanks.
John
