Hi all.
I'm just in the process of building a garden office using SIPs. Soon I will need to batten out internally ready for dry-lining, but wondered if there are any specifications I need to be aware of in terms of minimum / maximum depth of wall / ceiling void for the cables to run in - and whether they need to be in conduit or similar? I'm not able to cut into the SIPs, so I'll need everything to be in the void I create.

I believe that technically the building is not covered by building regs as it is too small, but I'd like to comply with the regs as far as poss anyway by way of good practice.

I'm intending to batten-out with 25mm roofing battens or similar, so the void will be around 25mm.

Any input gratefully received.

25mm should be fine, if you keep the cables in the correct zone just either clip them or use conduit or similar if you prefer.
You could even go down to 10mm or so if you wanted even if you use oval conduit, as cables are not that thick. Just depends if you might want to use it for anything bigger.

When I read that, until I went back and re-read the OP, I thought you were referring to 25mm or 10mm cables
