Query about installing a mixer tap for hose attachment...

Plumber is back. He did his own research last night and came to the same conclusion... turn off the water main, run a hot tap until it loses pressure, then work on the tap. We both agreed (I said I'd been doing my own 'research') on the plan of action. Anyway, it worked as was said, turned on the hot in the kitchen until it stopped flowing, now he is hard at work. Also we have the compression end caps.
