Hey guys,

Basically I just got some 6 x 6 ft dip treated fence panels to replace my 3ft high panels but after spending out on them I kind of can't afford all the gravel boards.

I have wooden fence posts so I thought it would look better with wooden gravel boards.

I have some closeboard panels installed as a temporary measure so could I take the horizontal bars from them and use them as gravel boards to protect from rot? As they are obviously the correct length already... Or at least until I can get something better?

Thanks in advance.

Edited to add .. Some of the dip treated panels say that they don't require gravel boards.

Yeah that's an option. Just not sure how I will feel about the gap.

you can have a smaller gap but you will have to remove any soil or rubbish build up to stop the bottom rotting
