I've noticed that Honeywell TRV's mention that they have 6mm of play on the radiator tail piece. Do the Drayton TRV4's have this too?

are you saying that when you are sitting in your living room, your TRVs quietly pop into the conversation that they have 6mm play on there selves??
if so pop into B&Q and talk to the Draytons, catch up on the TRV gossip

in answer to your question (sort of)
danfoss ras-c radiator tails have the nut and olive already nipped on...........sort of. If you connect the valve body you can knock it up and down the tail probably about 5mm

Thanks but ideally i'd like to know about the Drayton. As i'm doing this as a DIY job i'm wondering if the gap between the valve and the radiator may be too big. If I'm worrying over nothing please let me know too.
