Hi.

I want to install a new shower into my bathroom. We currently have a mixer onto both taps and it's really low pressure.

I'm a bit confused over all the different shower types. I'd like about 1.5 bar of water pressure - that is my only requirement alongside having a shower that doesn't run cold, then hot, then cold etc. etc.

I don't have a seperate circuit cable installed, so i'd have to run one from the MCB to the bathroom - having looked at the wiring in the loft for the upstairs lighting and thinking it through, it's going to involve pulling out lots of walls, floor and doors! Not something i'm looking forward to.

Can i (basically, i'll read up more on the details if you guys and gals can point me in the right direction) put a fat pump in the loft (or away from the bathroom) and have the hot and cold water tanks supply it?

This would mean i could go from the HW tank, up into the roof then down into the bathroom, which would be easier than running cable.

Can you give me some advice on what I should be looking for/reading?

Will I need a bigger HW tank? How do I work out the capacity I'll need? (is there a 10L/min * average shower length + elbow room; type equation?)

What about CW supply?

I presume with a pump, I don't have to worry about the head of pressure/adding height to the HW tank?

Will I still need electricity run to the shower, or is there someway a pump can tell when the tap is opened and start pumping?

Thanks for any advice.

Mr. Tickle.
