Good morning , hope you all had a great Christmas ,
Ive got a optima 901 boiler combi which is short cycling , heating is ok , its the hot water that runs cold, hot, cold. its possibly the heat exchanger , however the boilers too old to replace this part , it wouldnt be cost effective.
Its been doing it for a while. There was a solution on a forum, possibly this one , however It was a bit vague , it was a very old post 2009 I think so I havent been able to get in touch with the person who posted it.
I have no intention of doing any work on the boiler myself however I want to clarify something, the post I viewed stated that a gas engineer viewed a same model boiler and disconnected a flexi pipe that was approx 3 inches long , cleaned it , reconnected it and the problem was solved ,
Can anyone clarify the name of this pipe ,
is it the clear pipe hanging down on the left hand side under the boiler? or is it a pipe inside the combustion chamber , i assuming that there wouldn't be a plastic pipe in the combustion chamber? Im assuming the past im looking for is some sort of vent?
Id appreciate any sort of advice.
Thank you
