no, not that obscure.

You might notice first that each number itself, has a simple mathematical property...

None is correct, but the most promising, in a way, probably, is @trazor

Interested to know how you got those. 1036 is 37 x 28 so it doesn't satisfy #4939. Nor does 11. Hmmmm .

You may get it by chance. That won't do, it'll need the method, obviously!

This is better than the yes/no game. We're going to just have to keep guessing numbers. Such fun! -4096

Hint

n.(n-1)

42 is 7x6
56 is 8x7

but

20 is 5x4 and 20 is still 5x4

If the third number had been

9x8= 72, I would see the link, but I can't.

12=4x3

Am now gonna just guess.

6x5=30
4x3=12
3x2=6
2x1=2
1x0=0
0x(-1)=0
-1x(-2)=2

Actually, if it helps anyone, it cannot be a negative number

Well, it, um, needs the application, of um, thinking......
I mean if I presented a sequence of Two, Fou , Six, Eig, would you be able to guess the next triplet or are they just random letters?
