Really fck off. I am sure even a whiff of this post will give a few of you flag burning britain loathing, post colonial guilt wallowers, a semi.

Tax the rich = Tax the hard working, the self sufficient, the ambitious, the independant. This will please the people who haven't made it in life, the ones that give a ****** sign when you overtake them, the ones who are too lazy to take a chance and do better, yet resent the ones that do. Thats you that is.

Already pulled out most of my investments in this country, and have watched many around me do so, tired of paying 55% or more in taxes and can vouch for many who have paid nearly half of their earning to a government who just squander it on wastefull schemes and spend far more time working out how to tax more over how to spend smarter. Think of the ****test amateur invesmtent company ever and double it, imagine giving them all your money each month on the promise they cover all your bills and give you any change back, instead youd find at the end of the year you're actually in debt, most of the money has gone to the wrong companies overcharging you without any due diligence on finding you the best deals. The rest hasn't even been spent on you, it's just marked as 'admin' and noone will explain where it's gone. Thats how this country runs.

We also still have zero accountability on this or previous governments on their spending. I can tell you now you would be absolutely shocked how much money is wasted over how rigorousy and strict our revenue services are in taking this from us. Somebody should stand up and stop this scandal, i can garuantee no services will improve over the next 5 years, a bit like all our utility bills they will all rise but nothing will change.

If we do not change how we run our country, nothing will change. I garuantee you that also.

Festive. We have to spend over £100 billion on new fighter jets and armaments. Don't you want to contribute ? The rich have the most to protect don't they. Come on, cough up, we know you're good for it.
You're absolutely right, money well spent that. Let me think about that, world class cancer care or even homing all our ex servicemen etc, no you're right shiny new F-35's no brainer of course, about as useful as Anne Franks drum kit.

There is a view around the world that even billionaires and multinationals should pay some tax..

Italy plans slightly less generous terms for non-doms.

"Italy aims to raise flat tax for rich foreigners by 50%"

"Increase to €300,000 would be severe blow to wealthy expats seeking to escape higher levies elsewhere in Europe

Italy aims to increase its flat tax on the foreign income of wealthy individuals who relocate to the country by 50 per cent to €300,000.

The increase, if approved by parliament, would be a severe blow to rich expats seeking to escape higher levies elsewhere in Europe. Over the past decade, Italy, and particularly its financial capital Milan, has become a popular destination for the world’s super-rich, lured by the quality of life and tax incentives that allow them to pay a flat sum on all of their overseas income. But the scheme has been controversial among ordinary Italians, especially in Milan, who have blamed it for driving up property prices and contributing to a worsening housing shortage. A finance ministry official on Friday said the measure was included in Italy’s draft 2026 budget law that envisions around €18.7bn worth of tax cuts and social spending increases, including a tax reduction for lower and middle-income workers

poor Festive is angry because he has spent his life as a right winger voting for the mess we are in at the moment. Suck it up ya loser :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

you voted for brexit..........there's £100b spaffed up the wall and a constant increase to trade barriers to our largest market
you voted for the Tories........there's £4.2b spaffed up the wall on bogus PPE contracts to their mates

I expect you thought Liz Truss was great..........well due to her spooking the markets we now have £100b servicing our debt

Oh and by the way debt to gdp was 30% in 2005 under a Labour govt, when Conservatives left in 2024 it was 100%

I bet you support privatisation............but you dont understand what the flogging of our infrastructure and public services to foreign private equity does. Privatise the profits socialise the losses

dont be a Rodney, dont be Festive

if Festive is so unhappy, he should move to America.

taxes are low over there

ps current health insurance costs to cover a family = $50,000 per annum

dontcha just love free market capitalism

off you toddle, theres a good chap :ROFLMAO:

We’re paying for furlough, interest rates on the bond repayments are going up, reeves is well regarded by the city. Brexhit has added to the tax burden.

Festive also doesn't realize or accept we signed a tariff dea with the USA to keep our exports at acceptable levels, that probably means we have to keep our hands off taxing the big USA tech guys.

So taxes have got to come from somewhere else. Personally I'd have preferred taxing them and paying the price on tariffs. I doubt they'd last long if USA began to suffer from a lack of world wide suppliers. But those with the most power look at there profits and trade.

Like it or not, it's how the world works.

If you want to talk about waste, where do you want to start? Tories maybe ?

Heard today they might go after the 'motability' scheme, with 1 in 5 new cars sold being on the scheme, could be an earner.

It’s not extra money for the people on benefits.

People get awarded benefits and they can choose whether they wish to spend some of it on a car

The loss to the govt is that motability is VAT free

The problem with Rachel’s strategy is she doesn’t seems to have a strategy to get out of this doom loop she has put the country in.

Any tax raises will likely put the country in to a recession given her targeting. She’d raise far more money by making Britain an attractive place to pay taxes rather than the reverse.

The problem with your post is that it is rooted in a falsehood.

The country has been in (un)managed decline for decades.

Not helped by our adversarial electoral system, ensuring that no party (even if they had the balls to do it) can or will make the changes necessary to reverse this decline.

Just your opinion of course. Just like my opinion.
