Radial Question?

Was working in an old house today and there was a radial in 4mm. Obviously sometime after the radial was put in an extra socket was added to it about a metre away but it was done in 2.5mm. I know this is quite rough and not good practice but is it safe?

if its feeding just one s/o then its ok. (assuming everything else is ok with the circuit)

As long as it serves just one accessory it's no different to adding a spur from a regular ring circuit.
