Hi,

Just trying to balance my radiators.

Are the lock shield valves on the flow or the return?

I have some older radiators as part of the system and both valves look the same!

I think i have determined which is the flow and which is the return so now just need to know which one to adjust as the "LSV"

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

The radiator valves are indeed the same - only the one called the lockshield has its movable top replaced by a non adjustable one.

The lockshield is usually fitted on the return, and its this that you adjust to balance - leaving the other one fully on.

To find out which is the flow, switch the heating on from cold....the pipe that gets hot first is the flow.

John :)
