Hi there,

I've a combination of copper and speedfit pipework for my CH system, I've DIYed some, and had different plumbers for other parts.

Is there a 'standard' set up in terms of elbows etc for coming through a floor to connecting radiators -

Personally I've always used a 90 deg elbow to vertical copper through the floor, always having copper (or chrome coated type) visible.

I'm sure I've seen a plumber use the flexibility of plastic pipe under the ground floor rather than vertical after an elbow, leaving the pipe plenty of movement to fit to a radiator.

I ask this as I've a tight situation where only the neighbouring floorboard can be removed to fit a radiator, therefore coming up through a hole to join is a little difficult - I didn't want to buy a pipe bender for this one job, or is 'feeling' blindly to tighten a compression fitting common practice?

Any advise gratefully received.
