Radiator tail extension

I'm fitting a couple of Flomaster radiators that are about 40mm narrower than the old ones.

Are these extension tails best wrapped with ptfe or coated with Fernox on the 1/2 bsp taper end?

Wrap a dozen or more turns of PTFE tape ,and smear with LSX.

Why the LSX?

Shouldn't the PTFE be sufficient?

Belt and braces. PTFE is fine on its own ,for a diy'er asking for advice LSX gives a better chance of first time leak free.
