Railing with glass for decking

Hi
I fancy having some kind of metal or wood railing with glass or acrylic panels round my deck but the panels alone are £60 each per 900mm. And the metal poles are horrendous!
has anyone got any ideas how we could make this up ourselves please and with what materials

the glass is probaby laminated / toughened. you want it to stay put so i should guess that to do the job properly and safley is going to cost a few bob

I have found some reasonable 8mm panels but need an idea for brackets to support

i assume they are toughend!!!!

you would need to ask the place supplying you the glass the requirements for support and room between the metal/glass/wood for expansion/contraction!!!!
