Hi,

I'm getting quotes for railings for a raised patio. I've been offered 'hot zinc' treatment for 20% extra cost.

My question is, is it really neccessary? the railings will be well painted with a modern paint, not left exposed. I'm all for effective protection against the elements but I'm not sure if the coating actually offeres that much more than the paint will.

Thx,
UBERFXS.

whats the actual cost of the treatment. it will give a better lifetime, but depends what youre paying for it.

The railings are £150 per meter (to our design) and the coating is an extra £30 per meter.
