Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on building a small 5x7' paver patio on my garden, the problem I have is that it's on a gradient, around 6" inch difference in height across the proposed size (5% gradient-ish). Once I've dug out the foundation, I've decided that I need to build a small retaining wall on the lowest side and then back fill it with compacted hard core in order to bring it up to level, then lay my patio on top using a mortar bed. My question, is it ok for my pavers to overlap and sit on the retaining wall? Or will that cause those pavers to become un-even in height over time?

Thanks,

Joe
