Hey
I’m looking for some help on the best substrate to use to raise the level of my garden, I’m looking at raising 200/300mm to make the garden levels correct.

What’s the best material to use to raise this up? The current subsoil is clay.

We are going to be having some extension footings, the contractor has suggested spreading the clay over the garden to help raise it, the garden already holds its water and has a high water content, is it feesable to use this to add height or is there something better to use?

How big is your garden in square meters?

Have you considered how much material you will need to buy and move to achieve your goal?

It’s a considerable size area, around 20m x 8m, It’s going to be a lot of material needed, just not sure what’s best to use?

The current level is too low and we are getting standing water which we are hoping will be helped by raising the level and adding in extra drainage
