I want to extend my bungalow to increase number of bedrooms; can the roof be raised so that I can get the required height for two bedrooms ?
Is there a maximum height allowed for this under the reg's?
I always thought that the roof line cannot be changed and that you can only build outwards.
anyone with any clues?

the big decision on the height of the roof is down to the planning dept.....building regs are happy with many things providing the are reasonable (eg you would need structural calcs to justify the new construction - as well as meeting the other regs)

things to keep in mind you can comply completely with building regs get the green light and your project will now be finnished eerr well no
you must do it with planning permision as well
planning is the building sutable appropritate for the location ect
building regs is it solid and safe ect
