Ratio of wall width to coping stone width

What is an appropriate/reasonable ratio for the width of a coping stone to the width of a wall?

We've seen coping stones that are 195mm wide and bricks for a wall that are 90mm wide, which would give an overhang of 52mm on both sides, which seems too much but would appreciate some advice.
