Hi all

I am working on a ravenheat
fanned combi rsf 82e
g.C. No 47 581 18

And my customer has hot water problems .
I stripped the boiler back and found that the heat exchanger fins have melted somehow ?

It got a vertical flue and I'm thinking water must hv come down the flue and helped corrode the fins? I'm guessing , I found a cloth inside the boiler and customer said they had water dropping . The fan was difficult to remove as it was bonded on to the flue by dirt and rust.

The heat exchanger cost from 200 to 300 pounds

Before I change it, I want to be sure that it will cure the hot water problem . Central heating is fine.

If I restrict the water flow it starts kettling inside the heat exchange

Has engineer had the same issue ?

I want to help this customer as he's had issues in there life. Trying to keep there costs down.

Can anyone help?
