what would be the best way to add rcd protection for a cooker cable to be moved and reburied {not in the kitchen} and a few sockets added in bedrooms,,
the consumer is an old wylex with just mcb's and a main switch, i don't think that you can get rcbos for them.

Fair comment from RF. It may well be worth considering. What is the state of the installation generally? How old is it? Are there PEB's to the gas & water pipes?

Have you got rubber cable anywhere? Is the Wylex board brown/ with a wooden back? Is your lighting earthed?

The best way would be to use earthed metal conduit and a CCU without a socket, thus not needing an RCD at all.

Cookers are leaky things, and can cause tripping problems.

If you do insist on having one, FGS use an RCBO so that it doesn't take out other circuits....

system is ok, no rubber.lighting earthed,pipes bonded,
securespark, do you mean a seperate rcd for the sockets and another for the cooker,or a rcd with two mcb's,and do away with the 2 mcb's in the main cu?or could it be done with a main switch unit with 2 rcbos?
