RCD ?tripped

Hello folks,

Just lost power to all sockets in the house but lights stayed on. No fuses were off but I believe the RCD tripped - it was down in the off position. It seems to have tolerated being turned back to on ok. Is this an issue? What is likely to have caused it?

Could be a one off nuisance trip, maybe a dodgy appliance like an iron or kettle, only time will tell, have you had heavy rain recently?

Heavy rain yes. And some outdoor sockets.

Hmmm first place I would look, power off of course, I have seen them half full of water, and also slugs and their families

Yeah, I had to remove some slugs that somehow managed to slither through some Trunking into a DB inside a comms cab last month that was tripping an RCD!

Normallly caused by water though... Earth / Neutral leakage somewhere.
