Fair enough, but I think CBW was probably thinking about the socket into which the extension lead was plugged. It was connected to a extension lead all the time. Have replaced it with a new one
Kind Regards, John

Fair enough - we look forward to hearing your next reports!Update tomorrow then by the looks of it guys. Nothing has gone off as yet. Wm still unplugged and fridge freezer still on. At this rate faulty socket / washing machine. But I’ll confirm that once I connect washing machine back in and see what happens
Hmmm. Was it only the RCD (blue lever) which tripped, or did any of the MCBs (black/brown levers) also trip?Ok update guys it’s just tripped on the kitchen socket. And the Rcd (blue lever went down) second night in a row that it’s gone off around this time. Washing machine disconnected and fridge connected To a different circuit.

Any changes recently, whereby you could have accidentally punctured a cable? Do you have a socket tester? Can’t for the life of me think want it could be
How about the RCD is faulty. Can’t for the life of me think want it could be
No changes recently at all. Literally just randomly started happening. The only one thing (probably wrong) is the boilers time clock at the front? Works on timing . But I think I’m clutching at straws at it still tripped when I had pulled the boiler plug outAny changes recently, whereby you could have accidentally punctured a cable? Do you have a socket tester?
I do have a socket tester I’m literally out nowAny changes recently, whereby you could have accidentally punctured a cable? Do you have a socket tester?
It wouldn’t do any harm, but also may not show anything. If you find nothing, then it might be time to call an electrician in.Shall I test the kitchen sockets?
No worries I’ll do it today. Also the other issue is most of the house is connected via extension leads (blame previous owner) wondering if still tripping because I didn’t unplug the extension lead but just the appliance going into the extension leadIt wouldn’t do any harm, but also may not show anything. If you find nothing, then it might be time to call an electrician in.
