Does anyone know how much power a RCD uses? I guess it may be of interest if you were fitting RCD's throught the house. I ask because my plud in RCD gets warm when on so must be using a few watts whan it's not doing anything but of course doesn't have power consumption in formation.

Most active RCDs get a little warm during use, it has to be expected of anything that contains a solenoid. No cause for concern at all, although I can't tell you what the quiescent current draw is.

someone could stick a multimeter on one, i might even do it tomorrow.
