Re-fixing a tile on top of a gap

I had a plumber out to fix something in my bathroom and in the course of the repair he had to remove a tile on top of a gap (see pic).

What's the best way to re-fix this please?

If it was mine I would gripfill some timber to the walls at the same level as the vertical tiles on the oposite side which will give all round support.
