RE Halstead finest gold combi

Hi every one, Im having a bit of a problem with the boiler.
When the boiler is turned on standby, the heating comes on.
If i run the hot water tap for a few seconds the heating light goes off. . .
Then comes back on again. . .
At night time i have to turn it off at the wall.
When i turn it back on in the morning, its still the same, only it sometimes clicks a few times AFTER its fired up
Really doing my scone in.
Does anyone have any ideas.
Im at the end of my tether with it, £$^%**& thing

Could be the timer is stuck in the on position.

Think ive found the problem, im almost certain its the micro switch, looks like its covered in gunk, not a bad diagnosis for a women, heh !!!

Well done!!! That was a good diagnosis ,not just for a women but for some engineers that i have come across.
