 :?: Hi! anybody out there to help a. complete idiot? I have a Hotpoint cooker model W82 with ceramic hob,and have recently moved into a park home. Before purchasing a new LPG cooker I wondered if it would be possible in any way to use my existing cooker,it is 10.9kw @240 volts and the supply onto the site is 16amp. I suspect NO. Stoves, I believe do an eletric cooker linked by a 20amp spur into a 13 amp plug and I wondered if something like this would be possible. Thank you.

it is possible to use it, however, you would be limited in power. you only have 16A to everything, so it you disconnected all other appliances leaving the cooker, you could get away with 1 or 2 rings on. either get a very large genny or a gas cooker

Hmm. Well, 10KW of cooker implies about 40 amps, so if you were to try to connect it to a 13a plug, you would be able to use about 1/3 of the elements at any one time, before overloading the supply. That is a bad idea! :(
(it might work as a stop-gap, but if the supply is 16A you'll be forever changing the fuse, or resetting the trip depending on the design of the wiring -13A fuses and 16a breakers don't discriminate at all )
The cookers that are made to plug into a socket, normally have lower rated elements, and/or cunning arrangements so they are never all on at once.
Probably worth getting that bottled gas in as soon as is practicable. Sorry
