Re-nationalisation

Or to save yourself 45 minutes. read the link first, then decide if the video is worth watching!

Yes you could do that but even the "debunking economist" admits that the Fractional reserve part is more or less 100% correct so watch half hour of it anyway !!

lol

PS - I'm only arguing with you as you have a cold and thus I stand a fighting chance

A very commendable sense of valour, Dex. "Try to defeat your opponent, but do not dishonour them". (Nelson Mandela and possibly others)

An attitude that others would do well to adopt (including me sometimes). Although some might need an epiphany (or two or three).

BTW, where is Joe?

I might not do much today 'cos I''ve had a couple of crap days and nights.
Today is the fifth day so hopefully there'll be significant improvement tomorrow. (my health and well-being, not the quality of my argument)

You're ill because you're a capitalist.

Since seeing the light, although I've had a minor nose job for a deviated septum, and plates put in my broken arm, I haven't had a cold. So, you see, socialism is good for your health.

You may be right, but as a capitalist, I need a little TLC to bring me back to full performance.

As a socialist I might have needed surgery for inherent defects or received injuries!

Methinks he doth protest too much!

I was just highlighting the possibilty that Joe (judging by the posts that I've seen of his and the response of others) was/is the antipathy of Dex.
I'd guess that Joe's motto was "to defeat your opponents by dishonouring them", rather than by the substance of your argument.

Along the similar vane as nationilsation, does anyone understand the concept of "Dialectical materialism". If so, can you explain it to me in simple ideas.

Perhaps I need to wait until I'm back up to full speed and my brain is properly in gear. But so far, all I've read is in such abstract concepts that I'm lost after the second sentence.

I think I'm making a little headway; materialism is just about things, but dialiectical materialism has to understand the historical evolution of things, rather than the simple things themselves......No, I'm still lost. :? :?

Is it something to do with gravity?
"It is an eternal cycle in which matter moves, a cycle that certainly only completes its orbit in periods of time for which our terrestrial year is no adequate measure, a cycle in which the time of highest development, the time of organic life and still more that of the life of being conscious of nature and of themselves, is just as narrowly restricted as the space in which life and self-consciousness come into operation. A cycle in which every finite mode of existence of matter, whether it be sun or nebular vapour, single animal or genus of animals, chemical combination or dissociation, is equally transient, and wherein nothing is eternal but eternally changing, eternally moving matter and the laws according to which it moves and changes.

Are we going round in circles with these threads? :?
Or maybe I'm just talking to myself.
