Re-roof quote

Just had a quote to re roof 5 terraces houses, 40sqm roof area per house, remove old slates and re-roof with marley modern/cement tiles...

West yorks area, quote came in at 22500 all in(flashing, scaffolding, copings, ridge tiles). Works out 4500 per house which seems expensive to me.

Agree it does seem a bit excessive, i would get at least another couple of quotes.

Blimey, sounds about 50% too high especially if the 5 houses are all linked in the one terrace

Maybe the extra 10k is to cover the cost of strengthening the timbers to take the heavier tiles? Or is that just wishfull thinking

And they`ll be making extra on the re-sale of any saved slate

terraces, maybe with parapet details that need flashing , chimneys etc so could mount up. how about a picture?

that's a crazy price. definitely don't go with them and get a few more quotes.

We have a 3-bed semi and I had my roof done last year and it cost me £2500 for

remove old tiles and underfelt and battens
fit new marley tiles
with new underfelt and battens and
new guttering and fascia and soffits
